There are three ways to interact with locks: by name, group, or general device type.

  • To interact by name, use the exact name in the command.
  • To interact with a group of devices with similar names, use a common word in the lock names.

Example: If there are locks named basement door and basement deadbolt the user could lock both by saying, "Alexa, ask Building 36 to lock the basement locks" or "Alexa, ask Building 36 to lock the locks in the basement."

  • To interact with groups of locks by general device type (e.g. doors, locks, or deadbolts), say the type of device in the command.

Example: "Alexa, ask Building 36 to lock the doors," or "Alexa, ask Building 36 Are my doors locked?"

The list of commands below is a small subset of the possible things the user can say to their locks.
